Nigerian Contractors cries out to Federal Government over debt amidst of COVID 19
The attention of President Buhari Muhammadu has been called upon to rescue the numerous Contractors engaged by the federal government in her various developmental projects.
Making the disclosure in Abuja, on Wednesday, the Public Relation Officer of the National Contractors Forum , Chief Beneath Ikpeama lamented over the attitude of the government in turning a deaf ear towards their cry despite all the efforts put in by the organization to have their depts paid.
It could be recalled that on 2nd of April, 2020 , the group through a media publication pleaded with the Federal government to pay the said contractors but very unfortunate, no reaction was made by the government.
The Chairman of the group who bemoaned the challenges confronting his members to include deaths from hypertension, stress and others, adding that ever since the shutdown in the country, they had already lost two of their members to death as a result of hunger.
Also, the deputy Chairman of the group states that the Contractors engaged a number of Youths in executing the projects round the country but wondered why the government is bent on starving the Contractors of their funds leading to deaths of some members.
