We've Ensured Ease Of Doing Business In Ikwerre L G A--Chairman. Pledges Support For GCBMA

The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State,Hon Samuel Nwanosike has assured investors intending to invest in his council that his administration has ensured the ease-of- doing-business in the Area. This, he said has made such investment very attractive.
Nwanosike made the declaration Wednesday,when the Garden City Building Materials Dealers Association (GCBMDA),Port Harcourt led by its Chairman,Mr Calistus Nnadika paid him a courtesy visit at Isiokpo, the Headquarters of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State.
According to him,in line with this,his leadership has eradicated double taxation,outlawed illegal levies like marching ground and other anti-investment treatments hitherto meted out to investors in the area.
He assured his visitors that all necessary support will be given them to realize the target for choosing Ikwerre Local Government Area for their project.
"Your visit to Ikwerre LGA is timely, the local government is now the investors heaven. There is no Real Estate Developer that has no business in Ikwerre Local Government Area, because it is safe to do business. Now we have stopped all forms of double taxation, we have stopped intimidation, requesting of marching ground and all sort of illegal lavies and taxations. Our office and phone numbers are open for 24 hours for anybody to come or call for any form of intimidation from anybody, because if your business does well that means we are also doing well.
We are glad that this your project is sited in Ikwerre LGA, because its going to create direct and indirect job opportunities to the people of Ikwerre LGA. We know that your presence in Ikwerre Local Government will increase the economy of the area. It will enable easier access to building materials, reduce cost to purchase building materials and attract urbanization in the LGA.I want to assure you on behalf of Ikwerre LGA people that we will work with you, we will give you all the necessary support and we will give you a very comfortable tax regime that will make you business to excel," Nwanosike said.
The Council Chairman used the opportunity to enumerate some of his achievements,which he said include regular payment of workers salaries , empowerment of indigenes and non-indigenes resident at Ikwerre Local Government Area. Others, he said are establishment of skills acquisition programme for youths and women to grow the economy of the area. He also said that promotional arrears of workers have been paid up to date.
The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area said these are in addition to developmental projects accross the thirteen wards of the council.
He reminded the visitors that their project will create direct and indirect jobs for the youths,thereby increasing the economy of his council. Their presence, he noted will bring business closer to the people.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the group,Mr Calistus Nnadika had told the Ikwerre Council Chairman that they were in his domain to appreciate his achievements in the area of developmental projects and to officially inform him of their intention to build an ultra-modern building materials market in the area having bought land for that purpose. This he said will complement the chairman's effort in job creation at Ikwerre L G A.
Nnadika said they specifically appreciate the feat recorded by the Executive Chairman in the area of security, which has endeared him to the people and put him ahead of other local government areas in the state.
He promised that they would partner with the Chairman and his team through out the duration of the project.
The GCBMDA Chairman thanked Hon Nwanosike for the warm reception accorded his association.##
